60 Years of community impact

In July of 1957 the United Fund was established by Harrisonburg Rockingham County Chamber of Commerce. In the same year it became affiliated with the United Community Fund Councils, Inc. The proposed concept was intended to engage businesses in helping charities meet the health and human service needs of the community. As we look ahead at the changing face of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, United Way remains committed to responsive, innovative and compassionate ways to bring hope and opportunity to our most vulnerable neighbors and citizens.
