More than 300 volunteers made up of community members, businesses, students, even kids came together last weekend to help Stuff the Bus. Our generous community stepped up and donated more than $100,000 of supplies which have already been distributed to the Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County Schools. It wouldn’t have been possible without our partners: Harrisonburg Radio Group, WHSV-TV3, Salvation Army and the local Walmart stores in Harrisonburg, Dayton and Timberville.
"It's really simple: when we have the tools we need for school, a new job or new adventure, we are much more likely to be successful. Because of so many community members who came out to Stuff the Bus, we're ensuring our littlest neighbors are ready to go on August 21st," said Laura Toni-Holsinger, Executive Director, United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
This is one of many examples of what can happen when we LIVE UNITED. Continue the impact by supporting our year-round education efforts. Consider making a gift, or check out other volunteer opportunities.
