ALICEĀ® Community Conversation

March 20, 2018 | by

We started a conversation which could have a significant impact on our community. On Wednesday morning, March 14, we gathered community leaders representing local nonprofits, elected officials, local government, health care, higher education, Pre-K-12 education, business leaders, board members, faith communities, local media, students and interested community members.

141 community members united to empower people in need.

We had a lively and revealing discussion about our ALICE population. ALICE® is a United Way project that focuses on community members who are Asset Limited, Income Constrained, and Employed. This conversation truly addressed the needs of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County’s ALICE population. The discussion was vivacious, and everyone in attendance was committed and focused.

We thank all who were able to join us to take part in finding solutions to our community’s most pressing needs. If you were not able to attend, we welcome you to join us for our next community conversation (time and date to be announced soon). We appreciate each of you for your continued support as we stand #UnitedforALICE.

Thank you to our media partners who provided great coverage of this event.
