Summer Reading Parties Scheduled to Boost Summer Learning
This summer, United Way is once again hosting Summer Reading Parties to promote summer learning. The Summer Reading Parties are part of our community-wide literacy initiative, We Read to Succeed. These fun filled events complement summer programming in both Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County public schools. Students will play games, participate in story time, enjoy literacy-themed activities, gain acces to Massanutten Regional Library summer reading tracker, and select free books to read at home during their summer vacation. The Gus Bus, Kids on the Block (a program of the Arc of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County) and other community partners will also be making special appearances at various parties.
