The Wampler Society Reception

October 30, 2017 | by uwhr1957

Last week, United Way honored the members and new inductees of the Wampler Society at the Joshua Wilton House. The Wampler Society is a group of community members distinguished for having given $20,000 or more during their lifetime.

We kicked off the night with cocktail hour and the opportunity for our Wampler Society members to get to know each other. After a brief greeting from Executive Director, Laura Toni-Holsinger and United Way Board President and Chief Development Officer of Neilsen Builders, Jim DeLucas, there were brief readings from Charlie Wampler Jr.’s three daughters: Libby, Margret, and Barbra.

The Wampler sisters read excerpts from their mother’s book, Motherhood to Menopause. These excerpts brought joy to all who attended and truly captured the earnest personality of Mrs. Dorothy Wampler.

The night concluded with warm farewells and heartfelt memories of Charlie Wampler, Jr. who our campaign is in honor of this year.
