Update on Grant Funding for 2020-2021

One role of United Way in the community is to provide flexible funding to organizations serving the ALICE population. They are currently in the middle of a two-year grant cycle, meaning they have committed to one more year of funding for 27 funded non-profit partners.
The United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Board of Directors voted this past week to convert their grant funding to be unrestricted for the 2020-2021 grant cycle, meaning that organizations can utilize United Way funding in whatever way best meets the needs of their clients amidst this crisis. This will allow grants to be flexible so that non-profits can shift and change programs as they need to in response to COVID-19.
