Wampler Society Welcomes New Members

United Way’s Wampler Society hosted a reception to welcome its newest members. The Wampler Society is made up of donors who have contributed at least $20,000 to United Way over their lifetime. The newest members are Tom and Lori Mendez, Cathy Welsh and John Brimmer and Cary Hevener (not pictured).
Cathy Welsh explained why she is so passionate about United way. "What I love best about the United Way is that it combines the heart of health and human services and philanthropy -- with the brain of business, understanding that running a non-profit as a business enables you to do more with what you have and encourages donors to give more because you are stewarding their investments wisely. I also love that they have the expertise to let me as donor know where the needs are and how my gift can be most impactful."
The Wampler Society, named for Charles and Dorothy Wampler, hosted its annual reception at the Joshua Wilton House in downtown Harrisonburg. United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is grateful to the Wampler Society members for their generous support. United Way thanks all of its donors for their financial support and commitment to make a difference in our community.
